Pianist, saxophonist and certified pedagogue, Marie has been active for more than 20 years on the international stage. For the last few years, she has primarily been known as a world music saxophonist.
Currently, Marie teaches piano, saxophone and music theory. She has a master’s degree in ear training and also holds a certificate in music pedagogy. She recently joined the teaching professors of the École préparatoire de musique de l’UQAM and the Vincent-d’Indy Music School. Marie shares her knowledge generously, with a contagious enthusiasm.
Ever since her arrival in Quebec, in addition to evolving on the local music scenes, Marie did several tours in the rest of Canada, mainly for artists under the Guyanese-Canadian label “Transamazoniennes”.
On the Reggae scene, Marie shared the stage and did the opening act for famous artists such as Wesli, Omar Perry, Michael Rose, Gregory Isaacs, Morgan Heritage, Sizzla, Inner Circle, Beres Hammond and Chris Combette.
Marie has lived in French Guiana where she played and recorded with Prince Koloni and Energy Crew. There, she discovered a fascinating artistic diversity that inspired her greatly, particularly the incredible groove of the “musiques du fleuve” which seduced her immediately.
As a teacher for the French National Ministry of Education she has showed a great capacity for adaptation and flexibility.
Classically trained in piano and saxophone, Marie has played for many years in various musical styles, including big band jazz, swing, world music and reggae.
Today, Marie continues to share her art while pursuing her musical projects with passion, dynamism and sensitivity.
